The Comprehensive Interior Design Curriculum
Interior design is one of the available courses if you have the flair for an overall design of homes, offices and other spaces. The introductory or guide interior design curriculum usually includes, for the first years, Design Fundamentals and Studio, Interior Graphics, Interior Design & Facility Management Careers and Design Fundamentals and Studio. This interior design curriculum for the first year also includes the mandatory general subjects such as College Composition I, II, Finite Mathematics, Social and Behavioral Science, Skills for Academic Success and other electives.
Generally second year interior design curriculum includes Interior Environmental Analysis, Office Design, Small Scale Design, Graphics, CAD for Interiors, Construction Methods and Technology. Again like with the first year curriculum, second year interior design curriculum includes the general subjects.
Third year interior design curriculum includes History of Interiors, Advance Residential, Large Scale Contract, Codes for Interiors, Commercial Lighting Design and Building Systems, Textile Lab, Interior Materials and Maintenance and Field Experience. This third year interior design curriculum also has one elective and seminars. Fourth year interior design curriculum includes Design Management, Research and Development in Interior Design and Comprehensive Interior Design Project. As with the previous years, the interior design curriculum for the final year includes seminars and electives.
Depending on the collage or university, the interior design curriculum may vary, particularly in the choices of electives. Nevertheless, the interior design curriculum is comprehensive enough to provide you with the necessary foundation for a career in interior design.
